Hey guys. I'm going to the vet today. Since mommy and daddy officially adopted me they said I need the once over from Dr. Shenk to be sure I'm in tip-top shape. I've been licking my feet and scratching my ears so I might need an allergy shot. Last night me and Baxter got all natural bacon flavored bones to chew and MAN OH MAN were they good!! That's all I did all night was chew it. I can't wait for my next one, but mom says it was a special treat and we don't get them too often. Mommy says we have to watch our figures like she does.Hee-Hee.....

Herbie

Well, Herbie had his first official outing since we got him. We took the boys to SuperPetz to get toys and goodies. I had Herbie's lead and J. had Baxter's. I was so impressed with Herbie-man. He didn't try to mark anything in the store. He was such a good boy! We were checking out and the lady behind me said, "Your dogs are so well-behaved." I smiled from ear to ear, "Why, thank you. They are the BEST BOYS."

Mommy


Hey everybody. Me and Herbie are still sleepy this morning, but I though I'd say hi. Man, do we love to sleep in the big bed. It's great in the morning 'cause me and Herbie get to lay there and watch mom get ready for work. I usually fall asleep and snore really loud so mommy laughs at me while she'd doing her makeup. I think Herbie like the big bed even more than me....if that's possible. I like my brother now. I usually give him lots of kisses on his ears and cheek in the morning, just to tell him I like him. He kinda looks at me like I'm weird, but that's okay 'cause he likes kisses. He follows mommy around a lot. Last night she was doing laundry and ironing and he slept by her feet almost the whole time. I went up to check things out, but then I went back downstairs and snuggled with dad. He's my buddy. Well, talk to you all later!

Baxter

I couldn't be happier with the boys. They are getting along great and they aren't fighting, they sleep well together, they are even walking on their leashes better together. Herbie is such a good boy and I couldn't give him up now if I tried. It's always a little scary and nerve wracking getting a new dog. I think even more so, when they are already 5 and have some habits that are learned that need to be unlearned.

I think the key is love and attention though. Herbie has only been with us not even a week yet and already he is changing his bad habits. He doesn't mark as much outside anymore as we have been trying to cut down on that. Before, he freakin' peed on everything. A small flag in a front yard, a skid loader down at the construction area, our own air conditioning unit out back. Good grief, I had never seen a dog pee on so many things in one walk before. Baxter has never done that and it was a little strange for us. Herbie, though, is cutting down on it. All we have to say is No and he puts his leg down and walks away. We praise him big time when he takes a regular pee in the yard and he responds to it.

Again, love and attention is all it takes.

Mommy

Hey, it's me Herbie. I wanted to tell you all a little more about me. I'll be 5 soon, but in my heart I'm still a baby. I love to play and romp and sleep in the big bed. I can't fall asleep unless I have a toy though. It doesn't matter which one. Me and Baxter have about 30 of them so any one will do. My mommy and daddy got me from a super lady named Lisa and her fiancé Stephen. Lisa is the president of the Maryland Pug Rescue where I was being fostered. Mommy said she can tell how much I love Lisa 'cause I was loving on her when mommy picked me up in Maryland to take me to my forever home.

Once in a while I like to pee on a wall or something in the house, so mom got me these cool belly bands from this cool place and I really like them. They are comfortable and they stay on really good. It makes mommy and daddy happy, cause they don't have to worry about me peeing in the house. I hardly ever do it, but just in case. Once I learn not to do it, I won't have to wear it anymore. I can't wait.

I like my brother Baxter. He's cool, even though he's a little chubby and spoiled. I'm spoiled now too by mom and dad. They give me and Baxter lots of love and smooch us all the time. I love to be smooched, but Baxter always wiggles away. What a booger... :)

I just wanted to say hi and tell you how much I love my forever home. And I wanted to tell Lisa thank you for finding me a mommy and daddy.

Right now as we speak, daddy is trying desperatly to watch the baseball game, but we have other plans. We choose to sit on daddy and chew our bones. It seems like much more fun to us, but we're not so sure he agrees!

Welcome to our world. Mom and Dad thought we should introduce ourselves. We are Baxter and Herbie, the babies of our house and the apples of our parents eyes!!!! I, Baxter will be 2 on July 4th and Herbie, my big brother, will be 5 on May 30th. Mom says we have to share a birthday party, which I thinks sucks, but Mom is the boss. At least Dad lets her think that. Hee Hee!

We have such a good home that we want to share our lives with everyone and make them totally jealous!! Enjoy!
